Below are answers to the most common questions we receive about Flexotrap®.

What type of material is used in the modules?

The system consists of a steel construction with different types of hardness depending on the detail. The target area consists of hardened steel, Hardox.
What dimensions are the standard modules in?

The standard width of the modules is 140 cm and the standard height of the target area is available in the dimensions 150 cm and 300 cm respectively (200 cm and 350 cm in total height). All standard models are 60 cm deep. Customization can be made according to customer wishes.
What does a standard module weigh?

300-900 kg depending on the impact energy the module must withstand.
What calibers can be used?

5.56 mm, 7.62 mm, 9 mm and all standard hunting calibers class 1. Systems for 12.7 mm (.50 cal) and .22 are available and can be adapted to customer requirements.
Can all grids be moved?

Yes, all grids can be easily moved between all positions. They can also be turned back and forth for maximum material utilization before needing to be replaced.
Is a power supply required?

No, the modules do not need a power supply and can therefore be used in all environments.
How is the shooter protected from recoil?

Via a rubber tile that is attached in front of the target area. The tile is included with purchase and enables a shortened shooting distance down to 3 meters.
What color is the recoil guard?

The standard color is black. It's possible to install an additional rubber sheet or cover plate in a different color in front of the backstop to modify the background color in relation to the boards.
How thick is the recoil pad?

We recommend our standard of 10 mm. It is possible to order a thicker rubber pad.
How much wear does the recoil guard wear?

Recoil protection is affected both by how much is fired, but above all by what is fired. Fully jacketed small-diameter ammunition, such as 223 hunting ammunition, will cause minimal wear, while expanding ammunition or large-diameter, slow-moving bullets, such as 12-gauge slugs, will cause the most wear.
How is the risk of water contact remedied with the rebound protection outdoors?

With the help of a roof plate. The weather protection is adapted to the environment of use.
Is it possible to attach boards directly to the module?

Yes, boards can be attached directly to the backstop or to board holders for standing or hanging boards. Both turnstiles, fixed boards and electronically marked boards can be used.
What temperatures can the module withstand?

The module is resistant to frost and can be used in both extremely hot and cold climates.
Can the modules be installed in a fixed firing range?

Yes, both indoors and outdoors. The modules can also be installed in a container concept as a complete mobile shooting range with the option of being moved around on a truck.
Do the modules need to be attached to the ground/floor/wall?

Depending on the substrate and module height, Flexotrap® is designed to be able to stand alone or in groups without attachment. The possibility of attachment is available if necessary.
What happens to the lead dust?

The module is tight in its construction, which means that bullet residues and lead dust fall into a box at the bottom of the module. The rebound protection ensures that the dust does not leave the module. It is also possible to connect your own ventilation, which creates a negative pressure and transports away contaminated air from the module without having to ventilate the entire shooting range environment.
What type of ventilation is needed for indoor use?

We recommend a pure exhaust air system to the bullet trap as the air inside the modules needs a relatively small air exchange and is therefore not suitable in a FTX unit. There is nothing that prevents connecting the exhaust from the bullet trap with other ventilation. However, it cannot be considered appropriate to exchange the air from the bullet trap back into the room where the shooters are standing.
Is the ventilation easy to disconnect if the module is to be moved indoors?

The ventilation is connected by 100 mm ventilation pipes at the top of the module and can thus be easily switched on or off.
How much does a module wear?

It depends on the main caliber and bullet type. Calibers with high velocity, high impact energy and/or armor-piercing or penetrating ammunition creates the need for more frequent service intervals.
Are there reinforcement plates?

Yes, the modules used for precision shooting where all the projectiles hit a limited surface, plates can be mounted over the impact surface. These plates are easy to replace, which means a low maintenance cost.
What ventilation adaptations are offered?

Ventilation connection is provided on all modules. If ventilation is not to be used, the connection is covered to create a tight module.
Can the modules be reused if they were installed in a fixed firing range?

Yes, all modules can be moved, reused in a new facility in a new location and leave no recovery costs or need for environmental remediation where they were previously assembled.
Will there be a joint when two or more modules are assembled together?

Between two placed modules we have designed a splice unit that creates a seamless transition between the modules.
How quickly can a module be manufactured?

Flexotrap® manufactures modules to order, which enables individual adaptations in construction and weather protection. The modules have a short delivery time, around 10 weeks. It is possible to enter an agreement on the supply of spare parts, which results in short lead times for your delivery.
Are the systems delivered to me?

Yes, the systems are delivered to the address specified by you. Transport costs are added. Pickup is possible by arrangement.
Where are the modules manufactured?

In Sweden. Flexotrap® is owned and built entirely by Swedish actors.
How are the modules moved?

The modules can be lifted using a wheel loader, moved with a pallet truck, mounted on wheels to be towed by a motor vehicle/all-terrain vehicle or assembled in parts for easy transport.
Is it possible to lease Flexotrap®?

Yes, the systems can be leased. Leasing period and time agreed upon.
Do you offer installment payments?

Yes, in collaboration with our financing partner.
Do you offer service contracts?

Yes, service agreements are signed separately regardless of which payment model is used.
